OHH What a donktastic morning!!!

AHHHHHHH!!!!!! What the hell is going on with my luck. 4 games this morning so far and 4 times donked out on the river. First game was $2 (50max). Started out great. Was chipleader most of the game. Get to 12 peeps left to go and some donkey allin for 6k with QJoff. I held KK so as usual I make the call. What do you know!!! He rivers a straight leaving me short. So after a few blind I am shortstack and am forced to go in with K9d, and of course someone calls with QJ off n hits a queen on the river. DOH!!! Out in 8th....$0.

Next game is the 300 guaranteed. Smooth sailing most of the game. Till there are 11 people left. I am in BB with A9c. Small blind (been donking all game) calls so I raise, he calls and flop comes Ah 9c 4h. So I bet, he calls. Turn is 3c. Now I am potted in casue with only 1500 chips left and the pot at around 4k. So i all in and he calls showing 10c 4c. WTF was he doing!! And as usual, rivers a flush. AHHHHH!!!! out 11th.....$0

The next game is the $1 (50 max). Was chipleader most of the game as well. Didn't get many hands so by time FT came I was about middle in chips. Biding my time I finally pick up a hand, AQoff. Couple people call BB so I raise. Everyone fold except one Donk who allins with A7 off. I figured I was good since this guy was doing dumb shit all game. So I call. And I bet you can guess what happened next. Of course, river 7. WTF!!! Out 7th....$2.50

The last and the one that pisses me off the most, the $200 teed. Was doing great all game. Get to FT and am sitting in top 3. Blinds hit me for a bit, but no big deal, still sittin 3/6 with around 9k. Sitting in BB I get dealt JJ. Few peeps call the $800 blind so I raise to $2400. Everyone folds but the chipleader who is sitting fat around 30k. Flop comes 10 6 4 rainbow. He bets 1600, so I go allin. The auto calls and shows 33, WTF?????? And once again, this donkey hits a 3 on the river, killing me!!!!! Out 5th.....$12.72

When will it stop?? It better soon or I may just be giving up this silly game!!

And I am sure there are a few of you out there who are thinking, 4 games, 4 top 11 finishes, why are you crying. Thats not the point here. Who likes settling for making FT or making the money! Not me!

Hope your day has been better than mine!!

My Wild Ride at MIS

So who says that it doesn't pay to smoke. This past summer I was invited by the nice folks at Marlboro to take part in a ride-a-long program they were sponsering at MIS (Michigan International Raceway). I was allowed to bring 1 person with me for the 4 hour event. Needless to say, IT WAS AWESOME!!!The morning started off at 8 am with registration and introductions. They then lead us out to the first event, which was laps on the 1 1/2 mile oval in an IROC series car (pictured above). At first I thought, "No big deal", since I have been over 120mph in my sisters car on I-475 in Flint. But let me tell you, I was not ready for this. First lap was ok, just getting up to speed. The second lap we were flying. Going down the back straight away about 170, I was expecting the driver to roll off the throttle a little bit going into the corner. This was not the case. He dove into the corner and I was instantly pinned to the passenger side frame rail. All the blood started rushing to my head and it felt like if we were to bounce too much, or lose just a litle bit of tire grip, we were going to fly off the embankment. What a rush!!! A few laps of that and I was ready to become a driver myself.

The next event was laps on a road course in a Panoz GT. This was a totally different kind of racing. Strapped in to this car, I kinda felt like I was in a Go-kart. But once we got going, I knew this was going to be a different kind of ride. As with the first event, the first lap was just a warm up. As we started the second lap, the driver hit about 135 on the straight away, only to slam on the breaks at the end so we could make a hairpin turn. Zippin in and out of the corners, I really don't think the tires ever stoppped squealing. The G-forces were incredible. I now see why they make the drivers wear the head and neck supports. Without them your head would bounce all over the place. This was by far the best ride of the day.

The final event of the day was Drifting in a racing version of the Ford Mustang. This event was a blast. Now I had been drifting before, but it was in a late 70's Monte Carlo in the snow, not a brand new Mustang on dry pavement. Now this ride, I took some notes. Lots of stearing wheel acton needed to make these cars slide around so well, along with well timed throttle action. Just to damn bad my car is front wheel drive. DOH!!

The day ended with our group, which was about 20 people total, heading to a conference room for lunch and refreshments. Nothing fancy, just sandwiches and soda. As we were sitting there enjoying the break from the heat (July, bout 95 degrees with 98% humidity, nasty), the door popped open and in walked NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace. He then sat with us for about 30 minutes answering questions, signing autographs and taking pictures.

Overall the day was a blast!! The only bad part about the deal was that I had to take a day off of work, but who wouldn't for a once in a lifetime chance like this. If the opportunity ever presents it self again, I am all over it. And I suggest that everyone over the age of 21 take the time to go to smokersignup.com and fill out the registration form, smoker or not, because you may be next.

New Blog Feature

Hello Everyone....So excited. Just got music on my blog. Going to try and feature a new song everyday, some you may have heard, some you may have not. I listen to all kinds of music and would like to share some of my favorites with you. Hopefully you like the songs, and hopefully I am able to open your eyes to some new music. I try to listen to everything once with an open mind. Although I am not a huge fan of rap music, there are a few songs that I like. So hopefully you will enjoy the selections I choose. Any feedback on the music would be greatly appreciated.

5th Street Charity Ball

Hello again everyone, just a quick post to remind everyone of the 5th Street Charity Ball on Poker.com. This is a wonderful game held on the 1st of every month with half of the proceeds going to the Make-a Wish Foundation. The game is a $2.20 buy-in with (3) rebuys allowed and an add-on at the break. The best part about this game, well, besides the charity and the great people who will be playing, is that the winner gets the great charity game accolade. When I see a person with a charity game accolade, it lets me know that that person cares about others. So please everyone, tell a friend, a relative, or your next door neighbor who you cant stand. The bigger the turn-out the better. Its a great time and its a great cause. Hope to see everyone there.

Thursday, Dec 21st 1K

Well, I gave it my all. Started off fast with a triple up on the first hand. Was pretty slow going after that. Thought that I played well the whole game, but the trophy was still just out of my reach. One of these days I will finish off one of these games with a win, just not today. But who is really going to comlain about free money. I love free money!!! I guess I will have to settle with 4th place, the story of my life. Better luck tomorrow.
